Civil Engineering is the oldest of the Engineering profession. Today the profession offers opportunities for involvement in a wide variety of its sub-disciplines. The profession touches almost every aspect of our lives and gives ample opportunity to make significant contribution for the betterment of the Society. Infrastructural development has become synonymous with the progress of any country.
Dedicated to the purpose of maintaining and promoting the status of Civil Engineering / Architectural Engineering as an ideal profession the Institution of Civil Engineers (India) came into being to imbibe the characteristics which are fundamental to the successful pursuit of Civil Engineering / Architectural Engineering career. The Institution aims to train and educate budding Engineers and Architects of high caliber who are sound in theory and practice.
About Limra College
Limra College of Engineering and Technology, Ernakulam is established by the ARR-Rahman Educational Trust. The College started functioning during the academic year 2011-12 with the approval of All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and Government of Kerala. The College has obtained ICE (Institution of civil Engineers) Certification in the year 2011.
The Institution of Civil Engineers (India) Society which is registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 was created by the Indian Institute of Engineering Studies & Welfare Society, Ludhiana.
The ICE (I) awards different Grades of Membership - Corporate & Non- Corporate Membership. For the later category of Membership ICE (I) conducts Examinations twice a year. The Government of India has given recognition to the Technician Membership Examination & Associate Membership Examination conducted by the ICE (I) as equivalent to Diploma and Degree in Engineering respectively. The syllabi followed by the ICE (I) is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. Association of Indian Universities, GATE, Union Public Service Commission & various States & many more Organizations / Deptts. have given recognition to the Examinations conducted by ICE (I) for purposes of employment to the posts & services & for pursuing higher studies.
